So I worked on this one for quite some time, probably mid-September until Dia de los Muertos, which was the original inspiration for it all. I have a thing for circles, and skulls are up there too. The foreground contains particularly iconic circles for me, such as Coney Island’s Wonder Wheel, the wheel of fortune tarot card, and the broken-spoke wagon wheel I have tattooed on my back. The circles of the Buddhist dharma wheel and the irresistible big-and-little bicycle round out the bunch. The background is our lovely little Hudson Valley landscape of the tower @ Mohonk Mountain House. It watches over us all here, a pretty nice nightlight.
